Could you be Australia’s next Poetry Slam Champion? If you are ready to sing, shout, scream or even whisper your own poetry then get ready to slam it at Katoomba Library on Thursday June, 18. Performances begin at 7.00pm with registrations from 6.30pm.
The Australian SLAM is now the largest writing and performance competition in the Southern hemisphere but you don’t need to be booked in, famous or even qualified to participate. Simply come along on the night, sign up and you will be given a microphone and two minutes to impress the judges with your original spoken word, poetry, hip hop, monologues or story.
If performing isn’t your bag, then make sure you dress to impress as contestants are judged by people randomly picked by the MC from the crowd. This year’s MC will be the 2014 Slam champion, Zohab Zee Khan; didgeridoo player, harmonica beat-boxer and hip-hop artist.
This is a free event and includes light refreshments. For all information please call 4780 5750.
